Electing to bat first after losing the toss, India got off to a sensational start, thanks to the opening pair of Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. They put on a rapid 77-run partnership in just over six overs. Sharma was the aggressor, smashing a quickfire 75 off 37 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes, before being run out. However, after their departure, the Indian middle order struggled to maintain the momentum against a disciplined Bangladesh bowling attack.
